What are the System and Network Requirements for eSignal?

ICE Data Services -

Before you purchase or begin using eSignal, you may want to take into consideration what the System and Network Requirements are for eSignal. These are important to consider as your System's Specifications can have a major impact on the performance of the program, and your Network can impact eSignal's ability to pull data from our servers.

  1. System Requirements
  2. Network Requirements

System Requirements

Please note that eSignal only offers software for the Windows Operating System. eSignal is not compatible with Linux or macOS devices, and does not provide a Mobile App for Android or iOS/iPadOS users.

Additionally, while it is possible to virtualize a Windows Operating System environment on both Linux and macOS devices that you can run Windows programs on, we cannot guarantee the performance of eSignal on virtualized instances.

eSignal can be run on either a Desktop or Laptop computer, as long as it meets either our Minimum System Requirement specification or Recommended System Requirement specifications:

Minimum System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 7 or newer.

CPU: Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3.

RAM: 8 GB.

Storage: At least 10 GB of disk space available on a Hard Drive.

Recommended System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 10 or newer.

CPU: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5, or faster.

RAM: 16 GB (more is better).

Storage: At least 100 GB of disk space available on a Solid State Drive.

Network Requirements

Please note that eSignal cannot make any guarantees about the performance of your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) network or equipment. Nor can we make any guarantees about the performance of your own home network, or if you are using the program within your workplace, we cannot guarantee the performance of your workplace's network.

eSignal's performance can vary depending on what data you are pulling, and what sort of network you have or what Internet speed package you are subscribed to from your ISP. For example, if you are pulling data for a large number of equities or futures at a time, you may find longer loading times or slower updates/symbols not updating if you are subscribed to a slower data speed from your ISP, compared to if you are subscribed to higher data speed packages. To ensure good performance, we recommend abiding by our Minimum or Recommended specifications for Network Requirements:

Minimum Network Requirements

eSignal recommends a minimum network and ISP speed of 30 Mbps. Any slower and you may experience data lag issues, or issues with data not loading at all or loading slowly.

Recommended Network Requirements

For optimal performance, eSignal recommends a minimum network and ISP speed of 100 Mbps. Faster is better and can allow you to load and view equities and futures with little to no lag.

Firewall Notice

If you plan on running eSignal within your workplace's network, which may have an enterprise-grade firewall installed on it, we recommend referring to our Firewall Configuration article located here for details on what ports and domains need to be allowed through in order for eSignal to work correctly.
