How to use your Gmail to Receive eSignal Email Alerts

ICE Data Services -

  1. Enable 2-Step Verification in your Google Account:
    - Go to https://myaccount.google.com/security
    - Turn on 2-Step Verification
  2. Generate an App Password:
    - After enabling 2-Step Verification, go back to the Security section.
    - Click App Passwords
    - Choose Mail as the app and Windows Computer (or "Other" and name it "eSignal")
    - Google will generate a 16-character password
  3. Configure eSignal Email Alerts:
    - In eSignal, go to Alerts > Set Alerts…
    - Open the Email Settings window

    - Enter the following:
        Sender Email: your Gmail address
        Recipient Email: where alerts should go
        SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
        Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
        Username: your Gmail address
        Password: the App Password you just generated

    - Click Send Test Email Now to verify
