How to Use the Symbol Overlay Feature for Standard Charts
Here are the steps to take to use Symbol Overlay:
1. Open the chart properties of a Standard Chart. You can do this by clicking on the chart properties button .
2. On the properties page select Symbol Overlay under Chart Type, then select Add Symbol.This pops up another window. With Sym. Overlay highlighted under on the left.
3. Click the Add button. Sym. Overlay will display on the right.
4. Enter the desired symbol in the box towards the bottom right ($INDU is the default symbol).
5. The line color can be changed by clicking on the color box.
6. Then click OK.
The symbol added is overlaid with the current symbol. To add more symbols repeat these steps.
How to Refresh a Standard Chart
Simply click the green OK box 
in the upper right hand corner of the chart window. This sends a request to our servers to refresh the chart.
How to Change Chart Settings
There are a couple of ways to change settings, depending on what you want to modify. The quickest way is to select (click on) a chart window, at the top of eSignal click on Chart Options. From within this drop down menu you can choose Properties, Fonts, or Colors.
Properties: Here you can choose what "type" of chart you want and view/change the settings for each of those types you can add analytics, modify intervals, etc.

Fonts: This is the place to choose what font you would like the screen to display in the chart window itself. Bold/Italics can be set here as well.
Colors: This is the screen on which you can define the display colors for different "Functions" of a chart window.
NOTE: If you would like these changes to apply to all new charts of the same type, you can choose "Save defaults" from the chart options menu after modifications are made.
Linear Regression on a Standard Chart. (Standard Deviation)
When using a Standard Chart, the Standard Deviation (for Linear Regression) is set to 1. In order to change the Standard Deviation you will need to pull up Linear Regression using an Advanced Chart.
"Display VWAP" in the Tick Chart Properties
VWAP is short for Volume Weighted Average Price. If you put a check mark next to VWAP in the Tick chart properties window, you will see the Volume Weighted Average Price figure displayed in the Info window.
Editing Bad Ticks
The first thing to do is make sure that there is a check in the box for "Tick Filter". You can locate this by clicking on the properties button () on the chart, then click on the General tab. This will allow us to automatically correct bad ticks and smooth out the chart. If this is not marked, all ticks will be displayed. This feature should be marked by default.
If that does not correct the bad tick you may change the Tick Chart, but not an Interval Chart. Simply bring up a Time and Sales Chart and find the offending tick. Double click on it and change the incorrect price. You may, if you wish, simply delete the tick. This will stay in effect only for the amount of time that you are looking at this chart. If you change the chart type or symbol, the program will then ask for the data from our servers and return the bad tick.
Intra-day Charts for Options
Our Tick servers do not store historical data on any Options; however, we will collect the ticks as they are received. So, if you want to have an intra-day chart for any option, open up a tick chart with the specific option symbol and then, as trading occurs, we will fill-in the data. If your system fails, you close the window for any reason, or change the symbol, you will lose the data collected and need to start over.
Standard Daily Chart, Logarithmic or Linear?
Our daily charts are linear. Logarithmic is a vertical scale setup on a percentage basis. For Logarithmic charts please use our Advanced Charts.
Why the OK Indicator on a Standard Chart Window Vary From Upper to Lower Case
The green OK should always be capitalized. The reason you are seeing lowercase is because the connection to the server that feeds your charts was interrupted. To refresh your connection simply click on the green ok. This will reconnect you and give you back the uppercase OK.
