cid support overview
corrections, insertions and deletions (cid’s) are specific message types sent by each exchange (currently supported for all us exchanges) to represent last sale pricing adjustments and changes. we have long processed these cid’s at the top level of our network and adjusted the current open, high, low, close and volume for each instrument accordingly. with version 10.0, we now process cid’s throughout our network so you’ll see these adjustments in time and sales and the data will be automatically corrected in our minute-based intraday charting. we do not apply cid's on our tick-based charts due to performance concerns. for additional information, please review this entire kb article.

time and sales
in the time and sales window you'll find a 'condition' column. all exchange reported trade conditions will be supported and displayed in this new column.  mousing over the condition should provide a brief explanation (similiar to the table we've included towards the bottom of this page).  the background color for cid's can be customized in the properties menu by right clicking a time & sales window.

show/hide columns
you can choose to show/hide columns by right clicking within the time and sales window and selecting 'columns'.  this will allow you to add or remove the condition or seqid (sequence id) columns.  the exchange designates each trade with a sequence id number to easily identify and refer to a specific transaction.

strikeout cid deletions
trades that have been deleted by the exchange will have the designation of 'delete' in the conditions column.  you can choose to strikeout deletions (i.e. cross out the trade) by right clicking within the time and sales window and selecting properties.  add or remove the checkmark next to 'strikeout cid deletions' depending on your preference.

applying cid's to advanced charts
within the file, preferences menu, there is a tab for cid settings.  you can automatically apply cid's to advanced charts by adding a checkmark to this setting.  any exchange corrections, insertions, or deletions will be applied to the chart with this setting turned on. if this setting is turned off, then an indication will appear on the chart's cursor window just below the status indicator any time a cid is detected.  you can then refresh the chart at any time to apply the adjustment. please note: we do not apply cid's on our tick-based charts due to performance concerns.

why does my time and sales show shortsale under the condition field?  this is normal per exchange rules regarding regulation sho that are now being enforced.  it simply means that the security currently has a short sale restriction (click here for additional details).

what does b: and s: indicate?  for canadian issues you may see a b: and s: in the conditions column.  if you mouse over that area you'll find the name of the corresponding banks from the buy and sell side.  each bank has a code (i.e. 79 = cibc world markets inc.) which are listed in the file.

conditions table
the following table represents the conditions along with their descriptions.  the same information is available by mousing over the specific condition in the time and sales window.  additionally you can find this info in the file which needs to be in the same location as the winsig.exe file normally located in the esignal directory (c: drive).  if the file is missing or in a different location, the time and sales window will display numbers instead of text.
